Unfortunately, most people go about Facebook prospecting all wrong. There are right ways to generate leads and make contacts and wrong ways.

  • Don’t get addicted to the outcome
  • Don’t waste time with the wrong people
  • Don’t send then a link until they respond positively
  • Don’t have an expectation that Facebook prospecting works overnight

Warning, before you begin the process you have to make sure you are clear on a couple of things.

For example, know who are you looking to join your business. What do they enjoy? What are their interests? Then you need to know how to

Next, make the commitment to follow the process of finding prospects on facebook for at least 12 months.  You won’t get any in the first day or two but you will after the first week. After the first 30 days, you should be getting a constant flow of leads.


Because you have steadily increased the number of contacts you are making.

Once you find the cool people, what do you say to them?

Here’s a good rule of thumb is don’t be a weirdo.

Sounds funny but, I have seen people do and say things on Facebook that they would never say face to face.

Once you find people you want to be attractive as a leader. Remember, people are looking for people who can help them solve problems…hopefully, this is you.

Make it obvious what you stand for and what you believe in.

Add value to the conversation if you are prospecting in Facebook groups.

Be the real you and don’t share links unless someone asks.

Prospecting on Facebook and Making Connections

When you are connecting with people some are going to be new contacts and others will be old friends or acquaintances.

If talking to an old friend, here’s a proven a couple facebook prospecting scripts …

“Just curious do you know what’s going in the area of _____?  Would you be open to exploring a side project that would not interfere with what you are currently doing? If not, no big deal.”

“Hey, It’s been a long time…listen I didn’t reach out to chit-chat, I would love to catch up with you at some point but I remember you being (give them a sincere compliment, is a great networker, or someone who loves helping people) and I’m working on this project and wanted to share it with you. Would you be open to a side project that wouldn’t interfere with what you are currently doing?  If not, no big deal.”
