The Best Free Traffic Strategies

Everyone wants more traffic.  Free traffic means more leads and this is a wonderful thing.

There are many free traffic strategies that you can use to start generating more mlm leads for your business.

The root of many of these begins in the world of Social Media where value based content is king.

Marketing online especially in the area of social media is about giving value. This is sometimes referred to as social equity.

It is based on the principle of valuable content + your links = traffic and leads.

The easiest place to begin is with Facebook.com.

There are other social networks like: twitter.com, youtube.com and digg.com and literally hundreds of others but these can get complicated.

It is important, if you are just getting started to keep it simple.

Pick one of these approaches and master it.

What do I mean by master it?

Stick with it until you are generating 10+ leads per day.

The challenge most people have (I know this from personal experience when I got started) is they jump around from approach to approach and never having success.

So, they try something else then something else, then something else…

What I have learned is… you are much better off to stay the course and figure one approach out.

AVOID the temptation to go after the next shinny object or marketing strategy that someone said who be so easy to generate 50 leads per day.

The old saying, “If it sounds too good to be true it probably is.” This is very true in the world of online marketing and mlm lead generation.

Here are a couple of basic rules for your Facebook marketing:

• Give valuable information
• Never ask a new friend to review your links
• Become recognized as a leader
• Don’t play games like Farmville or Mafia Wars
• Be entertaining and enlightening
• Follow the 95/5 rule, 95% serves others 5% serves you
• Create interaction
• Be yourself and focus on helping others

Do you think you can find some prospects there?

This brings me to another question… Do you know who your ideal prospect is?

Without know this, you will have a difficult time finding and attracting them to your sales funnels or capture pages.

Be sure to figure out what Groups in Facebook your ideal prospect hangs out in. Start interacting and helping people with their problems.  Give value to the community.

Take the time now to define (in detail) your ideal prospect. Know who you are looking for, you can thank me later.

As you can begin to see, there are MASSIVE opportunities in Facebook alone for you to attract a flood of free leads.

Facebook gives you the ability to do video marketing, article marketing, even Per Per Click marketing.

5 Steps to Create a Magnetic Facebook Profile

I was shocked yesterday when I followed up with a prospect. He is a young guy (early 20’s), I met him in the Atlanta airport.  I told him that I would send him a friend request on Facebook and provide some additional information.

His response was “I don’t have a facebook.”

His language gave it away.

“My friends tell me I’m the only guy in the world not on facebook” then he laughed and said he was going get one set up.

In this post, I’m going to cover the basics of setting up a magnetic facebook profile. You will learn the  key things that you must do to create more friend and prospects.  You will also learn things you will want to stay away from.

1. Your Photo

Be sure to have a professional looking photo of yourself (smiling of course) if you are going to use your Facebook account for business. Some people try to be savvy marketers and put a business logo there or a product.

Let me tell you this screams AMATEUR!

When I say professional, I am not saying you have to spend $100 on a photo shoot although you would probably have better results with that.  Just get a nice photo of yourself where you look like you are ready to do business.  You can read this post on how you can get a graphic designer to help you make it look really professional for only $5. Yep, 5 bucks.

2. About Me

This is where you really get to share who you are and what you are about.  The more information you put in here the approachable or attractive you will become to potential new business partners.

Remember people will check you out before they accept you as a friend or consider doing business with you.  So include info about your hobbies, interests, favorite books, quotes, and life experiences.  Do not be boring.  Don’t be too wordy.

Share more about your story, how you are branding yourself, what type of value you are going to share with the community and what people can expect from networking with you.

3. Relationships, Education, Arts, Sports, etc

These areas help to create a snap shot of your interests at a deeper level.  One of the important things you need to remember a small connection like ‘riding horses’ or some other topic can create a whole new conversation and relationship.  This business is all about making connection with people.  Facebook is all about making connections with people.

4. Photo Albums

I will give you a quick tip.  A sure sign that someone is a spammer on Facebook is that they have a beautiful photo of a model for their profile picture and only one photo. Or they have an album with lots of random photos.

Let people come into your world. Let them see you on vacations, with your family and friends. Basically what I’m saying is be real and be you.

5. Contact Information

Don’t hide from people if you want to do business with people.  Make yourself accessible.  That means having your phone number, email and Skype info.

This is where you will want to list any websites where people can connect further with you. I have three sites they are:

Try really hard NOT to include a company replicated site. This says that you are a novice online marketer.  You can easily solve this problem by buying a domain name like YourName.com and have it redirected to your company site.  What we want to do is to give the best first impression.

Implementing these 5 simple facebook profile strategies will definitely help you to create a more professional image and be more attractive to your prospects.

One more thing, it is important.

Do not post a bunch of games and apps of your facebook page.  They are highly annoying to most business professionals.

Facebook Marketing: The 6 Step Process

With over 600 Million people now on Facebook it is an absolute gold mine for every business owner.  If you are in MLM or Network Marketing it is definitely the honey pot.

How sweet is this honey, well let’s just say you can use it to get 50-100 fresh MLM leads per day!  Imagine how successful you will become when you learn how to create fresh new MLM leads through Facebook?

But, while the honey is sweet you WILL get stung if you are reckless and careless.  Most people are lost when it comes to this process.

Here’s the big picture for successful Facebook marketing.  It is a 6 Step process for getting new MLM leads every day.

Step 1 Brand Yourself.

Begin by choosing a niche or an area that you are or would like to be recognized in.  You do not need to be in the guru status, all you need is a passion to learn, practice and teach in this area.

Do not try to be everything to everybody.  Be yourself and share from your perspective.

The central hub is your blog.  If you do not yet have a blog, it is very easy to have someone create a professional looking blog for less than $200.  Check out this post on the blog service I recommend.

Your blog will serve as your “Hub” for all your Social Media and Facebook Marketing.  This means that it will be the place you send all your social media traffic.

It is the “Home Page” of you and your brand and this is why you want to have a professional looking blog.

Make sense so far?

Step 2 Consistently Publish Content.

Some say once a week, I have found that the more consistent you are the more people will see you as a leader and contributor to the profession.

You need to see yourself as a content marketer or creator.

Why?

The more value you infuse into the community the more you will get out of it. You naturally increase your credibility, rapport and trust with your followers.

You don’t have to always write; you can shoot a video or create an audio.  I believe a mix of articles and videos has works best.

Videos only need to be 3-5 minutes and articles 300 to 900 words.

Step 3 Select Key Social Networks.

Select a few networks to build a solid following in. Facebook is best for this but some people like Twitter and YouTube for this.

The key here is every time you create new content; you post it on these sites. Always on Facebook.

Step 4 Ask for Syndication

Syndication means other people are promoting you and your content.  Some people think if someone is not in your primary business that people will not promote you.

This is simply not the case.  You simply need to ask people to do so.

Syndication is the REAL Power of social networking.  This is how you can leverage your influence and reach on Facebook.  You would be shock on how other people’s recommendations will impact your overall following.

If you want to be more pro-active, you can use an automated service like TribePro.  TribePro basically automates this whole process.

Step 5 Build Your List Through Your Blog

All traffic that you create comes through your blog for people to read or watch.  Your  goal is to give tremendous value every step of the way. You need to be informative, inspiring and entertaining.

The syndication efforts that you have will also result in more traffic to your blog.

Now once you have visitors you must create a free gift, something of real value that helps them so they will opt-in to your list.  If you don’t know what to do here, get with your upline and ask for support here.

The goal here is simple…build your list.

This is actually an asset that you control.

Step 6 Wash, Rinse and Repeat!

Repeat Steps 2-5 and email your list with each new post.  Building your list from Facebook and sharing content consistently equals unlimited income potential.

Your content is driving new visitors to your blog and builds a stronger brand for you.

Why?

You are adding value to their life (business) with every post. Your followers are beginning to trust you more and will not only follow you but recommend you and if your experience is like mine; some will want to join your team.

Those words hold just as true today.

Facebook is a social and relationship environment. It is about the social value you create which may transform into social equity.

When you first connect with people on Facebook, it should be on a personal level.  Let people come into your world.

It has been said many times, people like to do business with people they know, like and trust.  Right?

Work to connect at the prospects level.  Constantly ask for feedback from them. Ask them, “If I could teach you anything about (your product), what would it be?”

Basically, what I’m saying here is to interact with them and add value to their life.

Don’t be afraid of being direct either. Take a stand, share your opinions.  Sometimes you have to agree to disagree.

It is ok to go to the edge in an effort to wake people up to their full potential.

Who are you looking for?

Take time NOW to write down who you are marketing to.

Who really is your ideal prospect?

I’m currently reading the book, “Strength Based Selling” (which I highly recommend) one of the finding in their research was the difference between top sales people and low performing sales people.

It was that the top performers knew who they were looking for and only worked with them while the low performers chased people and spend too much time with the wrong people.

This is totally true for our industry.

I’ve said for years, “Spend time with people who deserve your time, not those who need it.”  There are lots of needy people out there, many are toxic and will suck a lot of your time and energy.  Love them and let them go.

Once I know the person I’m talking to is interested in making money I like to ask my business prospects, “What would you do with another $3,000 per month?  How would that change your life?”

I want to get into their world and their emotions to determine if they have the desire and commitment to create a success in a business venture.

Think and ask yourself these questions…
“How can I relate to my list (prospects) better?”
“What teachings can I share?”
“What journey can I take people on?”
“How can I tell the story of my business so they ‘get it’?”

Give your best to your followers.

Don’t not worry about how you compare to others, just be yourself and that is perfect.

It is your contribution to them that will keep people listening to you.

And know this…every time you ask for something you make a withdrawal.

It is a withdrawal if you will from your emotional bank account.

You must constantly make deposits, you do this by adding value to their life.

Give more than you ask of people.  And always be entertaining.  So while you follow Napoleon’s formula don’t be a afraid to add a little Ma and Pa Kettle.

Part 2: what’s going on in the industry?

Over the past 12-24 months lot’s has changed as is relates to internet marketing and network marketing.

The Big G: Google no longer supports MLM or the network marketing industry.  In fact, 100,000s of accounts have been banned!

Gone are the days were you could run Google ads and soak up search traffic on industry keywords.

MSN and Yahoo are starting to follow the way of Google.

Not good news for us but the savvy entrepreneur always finds a way to accomplish their goals.

In fact, one of the attendees Anthony the ‘traffic king’ is working closely with Google trying to get back in their good graces.  While some progress is being made his marketing message is VERY watered down.  Hopefully, he will find a way to make it work.  Knowing Anthony, he will.

Quality Content is King

Now more than ever the quality of your content is critical if you want to attract and create followers/leads for your business.

To best accomplish this you need to create a triangle affect that is make up of a Blog, a Facebook Fan Page and an email list.

Your ultimate goal should be to build a quality list.  This will only come from quality traffic.  Quality traffic will only come from the use having a quality experience on your online real estate (blog, Facebook fan page, videos, etc.).

Without a doubt Jonathan beliefs the best lead source is Facebook, followed by SEO for your unique keywords.

A double lead from Facebook is a very high quality lead.  If you do not know how to create a double lead you can learn more here.

Jonathan shared a simple “Facebook Formula” that he has tested over and over again, to generate 4,740 leads for his business in less than 30 days.

That’s about 158 leads per day just from Facebook!

Always be testing.

All marketing requires testing for results.  Typically, at least for JB, he does not discover the best capture page until the 5th modification.

Understand your market.

If you are in a market that is struggling, you have to figure out how to help the people in it as you will see in the mastermind session with Emilio, one of the top internet marketers from Mexico.

As a marketer you must understand your ideal prospect or avatar.  My buddy Justin, not only has a written description of his avatar but an actual photo of them.  When ever he writes his marketing messages he is writing specifically to that person.

The take home message is, if you haven’t already written a detailed description of your ideal avatar, you should write a detailed description of them. And remember what Justin does. The next time you produce marketing messages, it should be written to them.

The fact is most people know marketers are trying to sell them something.

How do you separate yourself from the pack?

You can separate yourself from other marketers by offering more free value based content.  This is referred to as moving the freeline.

Your goal should be to be entertaining and educational.

Find a way to get people to come back and visit your blog or fan page again and again.  Learning how to create ‘open loops’ or suspense with your blog posts and videos is key.  You probably have watched many TV shows were at the end of this episode there is a cliff hanger about what will happen next.  Once you do this, you have captured the imagination of your prospect.

Facebook fan pages are the future for online network marketers.  Devote time and energy to developing your skills in learning everything you can about Facebook marketing.  You will be glad you did.  I highly recommend learning the Double Lead process, it just makes sense.

Remember this your job is to: inspire, educate and entertain on Facebook.

Your environment and thinking holds you consistent.

If you are stuck. If your business is not growing.  If your income is not growing than you need to change your thinking.

Often then best way to accomplish this is to attend an event like the mastermind I just attended or a generic network marketing or some sort of personal development event.

Commit and devote yourself to personal growth.  Follow this formula and you will create a large following: learn, practice then teach.

It’s called creating a “Friend List” and if you are smart and I know you are, starting today you will want to start implementing this strategy.

1. create a list
2. edit a list
3. delete a list
4. post messages to a list

This is exactly what you are about to learn.

All too often I see the same information is recycled.  People seem to stuck in their comfort zone and routines.

When you do this, please remember the importance of social equity.  The value you add to the community.  The more value you add the more people are going to want to follow you.

You will find a brief description of each blog.  Be careful as you review these not to get sucked into all this great information.

They are not in any real order with the exception of my #1 pick Mashable. You’ll want to visit this baby weekly for great tips, marketing strategies, new tools, etc…so let’s begin.

1. Mashable.com – Mashable is the world’s largest site dedicated to Web 2.0 and Social Media news. It has more than 12.million page views every month. You will find it to be one of the best blogs for critiquing new sites and online services.  They are the CNN of the Web 2.0 world.  You will great tool reviews for all your social networking.

2. SocialMediaToday.com – Social Media Today has some of the best social media and web 2.0 thinkers, brainy-acts on the planet. You will learn how to create an interactive social community.  Once registered, you can feed your existing blog posts to the content flow of Social Media Today and create posts directly on the site.  That’s pretty slick.

3. DoshDosh.com – This is not your typical social media blog.  You will find it to be a fantastic resource for cutting edge online marketing and blogging tips. In addition, you will find some of the best Web 2.0 and social media strategies.

4. BrianSolis.com You will find that Brian brings a unique perspective as he looks at how traditional marketing and Social Media link up to create one powerful marketing machine when done right.  This blog is among the top 1.5% of all blogs tracked by Technorati—this means it rocks!

5. ScottMonty.com – Scott shares his perspectives on social media – the convergence of marketing, advertising and PR on the Web – for marketers, agencies, the enterprise and the individual.  He is the Big Dog at Ford Motor Company for Social Media. Remember, it’s important for you to expand your sources; giving you the edge to connect with more people.

6. Techipedia.com – Tamar Weinberg is an amazing resource. Her last post was on “How to Create the Perfect Fan Page.” Do you think you could benefit from that?   She is freelance writer and author of The New Community Rules: Marketing on the Social Web, who specializes in social media consulting and strategy, blogger outreach, reputation management, and search engine marketing (SEO, link building, and Pay Per Click Marketing).  Any interest in that?

7. AllFacebook.com – This blog is all about facebook.  It is all over it. You will learn about new applications, general news, and analysis about the future of Facebook. It is an exciting time in the world of social media and social networking and these guys cover all of it in relation to Facebook.

8. Twitip.com – This is about… You guessed it…all about Twitter. It covers Twitter Tips of all varieties including getting the right followers and how to make the your real friends.  You’ll also learn about things like Branding, Twitter tools and a lot more.

10. The Viral Garden – Mack is a social media guru. He will teach you about the latest tools and trends to enhance your productivity and profitability.   He has some very cool info on his site.
