To quit or create higher expectations?

How many times have you stopped pursuing a goal of yours before you have achieved it?

I think we have all done that in the past.

But, you know what, your past does not have to equal your future.

Summer is here.  It is a wonderful time of year for fun in the sun, vacations, picnics and good times with family and friends.

Summer can also be a deathblow to your network marketing business.

Summer time is full of wonderful distractions that can shift your focus and your team’s focus away from doing the business.

What can you do?

Now, don’t get me wrong. I love goofing off and having fun. 

What I have learned after 18 years working at home is that you can actually build some serious momentum while your competition is not working.

Do you need to be challenged?

One of the areas of my life and business that gets me going is a challenge. I have discovered that there are lots of rewards in overcoming challenges both financially and emotionally.

I just got back from a wonderful Incentive trip with my company, Numis Network.  I took my son; Matt and we had an absolute blast!

It was one of those father and son vacations we will always remember.

The incentive contest lasted about four months.  That was four months of focused effort and business building.  Points were giving based on product sales and enrollments. 

When I first looked at the requirements to earn the trip I set my goal and the mid-level. 

What resulted from my focused efforts was I was one to the top 3 point achievers out of thousands of reps. A pretty cool achievement.

I Got Out of My Comfort Zone

About 3 weeks ago I decided that I wanted to learn and implement some SEO strategies for the ProBlogAcademy product launch.  I bought Rob Fore’s Predatory SEO course and went to work studying and implementing what he shared.

As you can see below when I applied what Rob taught I did really well getting the #1 spot on Google for my keyword “Pro Blog Academy Review” out of 40 million results. 

YEA Baby!  There some pride in that achievement.

The bad news, if there is some is my page did not covert to sales as much as I would have liked.

The good news is I have now learned the some great skills required for SEO that I am implementing again for other keywords. Again, I think that’s pretty cool.

As I was going through this learning process, I must say it was not easy for me.  I started to have doubts, you know the…I am smart enough to figure all this out?

I just knew that following what success people do, ie Rob Fore and Predatory SEO, I could achieve my desired outcome.  I did it!  WooHoo!

Plan Your Next 90 days

The best advice that I can give you is to #1 know your desired outcome and #2 create an action plan to achieve it. And ask for help if you need it.

Write down specific and quantifiable goals.

Don’t play small just because everyone else might be doing that because it is summer time.

Don’t make excuses…make plans and work your plan.

Push yourself and test yourself.  See just how committed and disciplined you really towards your goals.

And do it your way and enjoy this journey.

Just put your plan in writing and do it.

You can keep it simple and focus on the fundamentals. 

You don’t have to learn new skill like Predatory SEO but you certainly can if you like. Just get committed to your plan.

Go back to the beginning.

Now is the time for you to create some high expectations for yourself based on your desires.

Don’t make them unreasonable expectations, just high expectations. 

This is the perfect time for you to start showing up as a more effective leader, recruiter and network marketing professional.

    I’m glad you won the trip and you and Matt had such a great time. If anyone deserves it, it’s you.

    I know that summertime will be the downfall for many. Time to play, the kids are out of school and your business takes a back seat more times then it should.

    If I have learned one important thing about this industry is that consistency is key. Okay, there are other factors involved as well such as a solid drive and determination to have a successful business.

    I have a direction I’ll be focusing on myself and I have no doubt with my determination to succeed, I’ll reach that goal for sure. With your ongoing support and leadership I couldn’t ask for a better mentor.

    Thank you for all your support Terry and trust me guys, if you’re looking for someone to get you to where you want to be, look no further. You probably won’t find anyone else that will care about you and your success more than Terry.

      Hey Adrienne, first the thing about incentive trips is you don’t win them…you earn them. LOL

      You are right the consistency thing and the focused energy…the doing the basics daily that makes it happen and for me at least it is never fast enough.

      You are indeed an amazing leader Adrienne. I have still so much to learn from you. I love the ping-pong affect where any two people can learn and grow from each other. To the top we go…who else wants to join us?

    Looks like you guys had a great time at the retreat, and I bet your son will never forget the experience. Congrats!

    We have found that getting out of your comfort zone as you mention, is a huge leap to big success in your business. As humans we have a very anti-change mindset, we do not like it and we try to avoid it as much as possible. Over the years, our team has really grown, educated ourselves beyond what we ever thought we would ever know and started helping others.

    We use a daily method of operation, and we stick to is as closely as possible, and all the methods, revolve around income producing activities. While we do educate ourselves on new ideas, topics, and watch new videos, or get on webinars, we do not consider these income producing activities.

      Yes, you can believe Matt and I had a blast. We did a similar to Maui a couple of years ago. These are indeed memories that we will cherish for a long time to come.

      While there are several activities I call ‘High Payoff Tasks” at the end of the day it all comes down to # of prospects you talk to a day, the # of presentations, # of Follow ups and enrollments. Of course this applies for the team as well. It is a wash, rinse and repeat cycle…know what I mean.

    Great you won the trip and I am sure Matt enjoyed it too. You deserved to be there. I am looking forward to my first trip with Numis.

    Well maybe the fact that is winter here in Australia means I no excuses! I do find it much easier to work in winter but given our summer is way longer that cannot be an excuse.

    Also well done with Rob Fore’s SEO course. I am really clear that is not my thing. I am enjoying doing Ray’s Pro Blog Academy course as I love he is not technical and now I can get rid of my excuse about that!

    Business is always challenging and we are often faced with things that are out of our comfort zone. The key is how you embrace it and whilst these days you can literally outsource and buy pretty much anything it’s also important to have a handle on things or at least an understanding.
