Hi Chip,
I could agree with you more.
I think the best thing that we can do to support people is to be real. Success takes time and money! There is way too much hype out there.
Thanks for your leadership Chip!
You have a choice so, make it a better than terrific day!

Terry,
This is a very thoughtful post. It never ceases to amaze me how people believe that you can create something of lasting value without making a significant investment of some sort. To an extent, its basic economics. Anything that can be produced with no effort will be overproduced to the extent that there is no inherent value in it.
Still, it can be hard to always find the will to push on through the headwinds. Thanks for providing an inspiration.
Regards,
Chip

Hi Beverly,
Thanks for your comment!
Yes, I have seen too many times that people quit
right before a BIG break through.
Winston Churchill said, "Never, Never, Never,
I said NEVER Quit!"

HI Scott, thanks for your feedback. I appreciate your leadership and your example. All too often people have a get rich quick mindset which unfortunately turn negative because the "thing" did not work.
The reality in more cases than not is that they didn't work. But, rarely do these people ever realize this or take responsibility for their lack of success.
You have a choice so, make it a better than terrific day!

Hey Terry, great information that people need to know and understand, especially people new to our industry. They are all coming from a world of "instant gratification" where people expect to have things and get results immediately. The "lottery mentality." "If I can't win it or get now or have it now, then to heck with it!" Just isn't going to happen. The funny thing is that even with ones that do win a lottery, they are most always MORE broke a year or two later and no better off. Thanks for sharing your years of experience, I watched your About Me video, I know what you went through and how long it took you to be successful, a VERY INSPIRING story it is, I might add.

Thanks Adriane for your feedback!
I have found that staying on course sometimes means the you run off the course but you are always headed in the right direction.
As a former pilot, I know that while the winds may push you this way and that way...as long as your compass is working properly you you can adjust your course to end up in the right destination: success!
You have a choice so, make it a better than terrific day!

Hi Kevin,
Thanks for your feedback man. The process of learning and growing can be both frustrating and very rewarding at the same time.
The freedom to create your own schedule and work towards your own goal of building wealth is certainly worth working for.
Let me know what else I can do to support you in your journey...
You have a choice so, make it a better than terrific day!

hi Terry, Great post and I totally agree that having a long-term outlook is absolutely vital to the success of any serious entrepreneur. Learning the skills to get into that 3% that succeed in this industry is a big commitment, but still much more workable (and fun) than just about any conventional educational path I am aware of.
I will spend some time with the rest of your posts.. glad to have found your blog (through Twitter).
peace, Kevin Doherty

Hi Bonnie,
Thanks for your feedback and response. Unfortunately, some over-zealous people sometimes paint a picture that is not realistic.
Any time you learn a new skill it takes time. And my experience as it relates to internet marketing is, it is VERY easy to get seduced into the next great marketing approach that is going to make you a lot of money quickly.
What I have found is that it is more important to build a strong knowledge base using an existing product, system or marketing method before you take on something new.
Even today for myself, since I love marketing I am highly attracted to methods and products. It takes a lot of self discipline not to get sucked into the next thing.
I congratulate you on being proactive in your education. Remember to use your time wise and partner with people that will support you. This means they will not do it for but they will do it with you.
I ask my team members not to come to me with problems or questions until they have at least tried to solve their problem on their own.
Best of Success Bonnie!
Terry
PS The best internet marketing and educational system that I have is the Online Mastermind System.

Terry:
Thank you for more great information about growing your business and yourself. I am constantly taking those steps to secure the kind of freedom and lifestyle I always desired. Your words give me a reminder that others have traveled this path before and are willing to share the "secrets" of their success. Joining with others on that same track can give additional power and strength to keep up the pace and in some cases exceed expectations.
My biggest challenges have been distractions of trying to learn and do everything by myself. I spent more money getting some good information but because I was a beginner it was like taking an advanced course before the basics. With the distractions of life and owning your own business already it really overwhelmed me. The person I signed on with did give me the right steps but gave me the impression that they didn't have time for whiners and it was EASY to do. Just create a website (pay for a web designer if you needed help), do a video (buy a class-buy a camera) and learn Google PPC.
I had just opened my own business a couple months before and didn't even know about online business you could do at home. It was almost by accident that I discovered this new world based on my online research about what I was doing in my company. The excitement about the marketing concepts I had learned about kept my interest and despite my distractions I began again to get back into the right direction.
You are really setting a great example of leadership and I felt like this was another reminder I was doing the right thing.

Hi Noel,
I was led down that road not once, not twice but thrice. (I know that's not a word but you get the point).
3.5 years, thousands of dollars later, I figured it out.
Let's be the example Noel for everyone else to follow.

All of those skills and attributes are required for success. I am amazed at leaders like yourself who have the wisdom and the vision that you do.
I know without a doubt that you will be one of our top social media leaders.
Keep chargin' after your dreams! And be sure to bring some people across the finish line.
Enjoy the journey!
Terry
PS Yes, it is Umstead Park. We'll definitely talk more about that.

Yes Yes and Yes! I was led down the road of the belief tha all I had to do was poke my hand up holding my product or business and people would flock to me and I'd be making multi dollars monthly in MLM and anything else I did.
You have revealed the truth and the solution - like anything else we we do, we need to learn skills first and develop ourselves beyond our comfort zone to succeed.

Hi Terry,
Thank you for sharing this message; it certainly resonated with me. I agree with your sentiments that there is no easy/ quick way to build a solid, long term successful business. Life is not a sprint, but rather an endurance race- like a marathon.
As you mentioned, inevitably, we "hit the wall" in a marathon or we encounter road blocks in life that can slow us down.
Those who consistently stay the course, overcome challenges, and surround themselves with positive, like minded people are those that will experience life-long success both professionally and personally.
I am new to social marketing and am excited to continue to learn new things! As you describe-- focus, vision, strategy, building tribes, and working with an experienced mentor is a foundational starting point for long-term success.
I have one question... did you say in your video that you are in the Umstead trail park?! That is the race I am doing in March!
Thanks again, Terry. I am so glad to have met you.

Those who consistently stay the course, overcome challenges, and surround themselves with positive, like minded people are those that will experience life-long success both professionally and personally.

I am new to social marketing and am excited to continue to learn new things! As you describe– focus, vision, strategy, building tribes, and working with an experienced mentor is a foundational starting point for long-term success.

I have one question… did you say in your video that you are in the Umstead trail park?! That is the race I am doing in March!

Thanks again, Terry. I am so glad to have met you.

Laura

Hi Sue,
I think we all want it to be a sprint but that is not reality. Lasting success is about learning the skills and developing ourselves. And the interesting thing is that the person we become during that journey often becomes our greatest reward.
Thanks for you insights Sue!
You have a choice so, make it a better than terrific day!

love the video on social media and the network marketing success. sometimes i WANT it to be a sprint! but your perspective of the marathon is super. what i love most about it is you train for a marathon. many people spend months and months training, and it's in the training where the conditioning is. just like in social media and online marketing. it's not a final product, or a finish line that we're really after, it's the journey of it, the life's lessons, and friends we meet that make it all worth the while.
love that park!

Hi Kellie,
You said it very well.
Unfortunately, many people don't have a knowledgeable mentor and neither they nor their mentor do not know how to market.
And, making a list of 100 names is NOT marketing.
Thanks for sharing!
You have a choice so, make it a better than terrific day!
